Texas Barbecue Chili
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon KC Masterpiece® Steak Seasoning with Garlic
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 2 cups onion, chopped
- 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
- 1/2 cup chopped red bell pepper
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1/2 tablespoon cumin
- 1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
- 1 cup KC Masterpiece® Original or Spicy Barbecue Sauce
- 1 can (4 ounces) mild green chilies, diced
In a non-stick skillet, cook beef over medium heat, mixing KC Masterpiece® Steak Seasoning with Garlic until browned; drain fat. Add onion, pepper, garlic, chili powder and cumin. Cook, stirring often, 7 minutes or until onion and pepper are softened. Stir in tomato sauce, KC Masterpiece® Barbecue Sauce and diced chilies; simmer 10 minutes.
Serve hot in bowls or over hot dogs in buns with additional chopped fresh onion and shredded Cheddar cheese.
Note: For a leaner alternative, substitute ground turkey for ground beef.
